UK trip insurer wants certified PCR for possible claim - how?

We have a large family holiday booked and our insurer AIG says it covers Covid claims but online advice suggest they’d require a certified PCR. NHS no longer performing these and I can’t see if you have symptoms Boots or other provider would want you in their premises, even if you were prepared to go. What am I missing? Any experience of this? Thanks.

Their advice may change, but if it doesn't it means you need to track down a PCR test.
Either from someone who had an NHS one sent to them previously and has no use for it or by paying privately. You can do them by post if you don't want to infect someone's premises, though remember all the NHS testing stations took people who could have had covid and used appropriate precautions.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. a positive LFT confirms you have covid, a negative LFT isn’t so definitive. It’s rare to have a negative PCR after a positive LfT, though the opposite is more common.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
