How to get started with the Mail app on Windows 10 | Windows Central
I've given up suggesting Windows-Live-Mail-like apps (Thunderbird, em client) because people find them too difficult to use (!)
I get much less hassle if people stick to web mail. (although yesterday somebody asked me why they get NDRs when they send email to @btinternet.com addresses!)Seriously?I think the browser based email for Gmail (I don't have any other) is absolutely horrible. I just can't stand it.WLM is also not difficult. What's difficult about it? I come here asking a ton of questions so I'm quite clearly not fluent in PC-lingo but WLM is simple to use.Off topic slightly but this just reminded me of when I looked in to password managers. I use KeePass & I see some articles saying a downside is it's not so straightforward to use. I just think .... are you for real? It's a doddle. With WLM everything just flows & it's basic. My inbox is completely in order. I get an email at 12pm it's at the top. I get one at 1pm, that's now at the top & the 12pm one moves down one. So on & so forth. Every email in is in the inbox. Joe Bloggs emails me - it's 1 entry in the inbox. I respond to Joe, Joe then responds to me - that's a second entry. Not an edit to the additional entry but a second separate entry in the inbox.IDEAL!I hop over to Gmail & it's like if my emails were sheets of paper, someones just thrown them in the air & let them land & they show up in that order. It's horrendous. Ok exaggeration but still.Emails appear as "conversations" which is irritating beyond belief. I open one of these to find it just doesn't flow.I don't know. Maybe there's a way to get the appearance to be like WLM. There probably is. I'm just not interested in it because WLM just works (& I assume Thunderbird since it looks about the same will do as well). Then don't get me started on the Gmail app. Not everything being in the Inbox. Just a nightmare to use. I use Samsung email.Rant over.

Whether these folk are telling the truth or not, who knows.Exist?I bought a 5 user Office 365 licence off ebay for under a tenner in Sept 2020 - it seems to work ok 🤞0

Doesn't really matter if it's been defunct for 1000 years, if someone likes the layout of it they like the layout of it.0

I agree with the observation that Gmail's conversation view is horrible but it is not hard to turn it off and I'd probably use something else if it were not possible to turn it off (which at some point it wasn't if you used it on a phone). I've used Thunderbird also and its fine. I find the fact that Gmail works on all devices quite useful when checking and responding to email but each to their own. A big plus it its ability to keep junk down to quite a small level.0

Yes agreed. Their junk filter I find is actually quite good. When I had an iPhone I used Apple's own mail app. I found it did what I wanted very well. My wife uses the Gmail app but I think it's horrendous. The only issue I had with Apple's app was forever forgetting what the various icons did lolNow I'm on Android I use Samsung Mail. On par with Apple's mail app.Oh and on topic - the Wowcher thing worked.Though if anyone else is considering using it - CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER! As I had visions of typing up a complaint email at one point.although annoyingly - I did it yesterday as it said voucher ending in 3 hours. £49.99.Yep, voucher sure did end ... and got replaced by one for £44.99. Awesome :-/0
