    It's different to the other thread because that centred around a spent criminal conviction and eviction following it being found out.
    This is someone saying no pets and the other party pressurising them to reject the claim.
    I don't know the legalities around the contract but it is incredibly cruel in my opinion to shut a kitten up all day in a room on its own without adequate 'entertainment'.
    Our recently departed eldest cat (who had lived on their own for years) had a month in a 2 bed flat where she had free roam of the place but got very lonely. Fortunately we had a kitten arriving anyway (longish story) bur even then the kitten also had full access. I think the kitten would do more damage shut in a room on its own.
