2. Is there going to be one generic setting for ads? The US has at least twice as many as breaks as the UK - we’re used to a 30min show being at least 25mins content, by comparison US shows shown in the UK barely last 20mins.
3. Is the ad content going to be tailored to the streaming content; principally, is it going to be child-friendly (ignoring whether advertising to kids is ethical).
For the short period we allow our kids to watch TV I use steaming because I know exactly what they are exposed to - I’d have no control over ads. This isn’t just about children’s programming; they watch nature and historic documentaries too.
Just think, 10% or more of your data could easily be dissipated by watching repeated adverts for rubbish that you don't want or need.
It could probably be argued that if you are on a limited data contract you wouldn't be using it on Netflix, as that's what your wi-fi at home is for.
