Does anybody know of any bank accounts that can take regular monthly savings in excess of £3000? All the usual banks seem to be limited to smaller sums. Or would it be better to keep it in a regular account for a while and the put into a higher fixed term lump sum?

Many 'regular savings' accounts offer higher interest than fixed term accounts.
For easy-access savings,IMO, this is a sort of gamble - over years a fixed rate account can perform better or worse than the best easy-access ones.

Regular savings accounts are a kind of promotional tool, to draw in new customers. Good interest rate. but limits on how much you can invest.
This is different from saving regularly in a normal savings account, where if course the banks will be happy to accept your £3K per month .0
