Parts delay

Hi all

Looking for some advice about a van which is waiting for a part under warranty. The part is on back order but is needed for the MOT, which runs out tomorrow. The van is needed for work and each time I call the dealer they say they'll call back but never do.

As the van is under warranty is the manufacturer under any obligation to supply a hire car? Or is there any other route we can try? I know there are delays across the industry and was expecting a bit of a wait but have been told it could be months. We can't afford to have the van off the road for an undetermined amount of time while we wait for the part.

You have not mentioned which make of van but one thing you could try is to get ther part number and order reference off the dealer then ring customer services of the manufacturer involved, always use to amaze me how quick a part turned up once they were involved.

Another idea find out if the part is common to other vehicles probably under a different part number.  Secondly try looking online overseas.
