Buisness electric

I have searched the internet but can’t find anything about the standing charges that are being implemented by the big energy suppliers . I am at my wits end our buisness electrify is 24k per year . Our standing charges at the moment are 0.71p per day . The cheapest I can find from BG is a distressing £34.00 per day , 365 days of the year . Making just the standing charges over 12k per year .

Business energy does not apply to the price cap or most of the protections found on the domestic side.  Simple as.  So they can charge what they like.

You may do better to find a broker or the business equivalent of uSwitch.  A fixed rate deal may be cheaper than out of contract.  Always remember where I used to work, an out of contract pricing was something like £2.79 a day and a ridiculous (at the time) 38p per kWh.
