New fixed tariff
Just to share some info: I was offered a fixed rate from B Gas called Exclusive Jul23v2; fixed for a year with no penalty for opting out (still keeping with B Gas).
Think this is for existing customers only. It means 19% increase to my bills now but hoping in Oct I’ll be benefitting. Had a problem signing up for it as a week after the email offer came out, they had withdrawn it! I made a complaint via Webchat and it was sorted.

Then they backdated it by almost a month! Made another complaint via Webchat and apparently it will start from 1st July.

Did you base your decision on any estimated monthly payment costs they quoted, or by comparing the actual per kWh rates/standing charges on your old and new tariffs?
A 19% increase sounds too good to be true unless you were on a particularly bad tariff before.0 -
Welcome to the forum.Jules_07 said:Just to share some info: I was offered a fixed rate from B Gas called Exclusive Jul23v2; fixed for a year with no penalty for opting out (still keeping with B Gas).In my region, that tariff is:
- Gas - 10.958p/kWh, 30.645p/day
- Elec - 37.508p/kWh, 50.929p/day
- Total £2700.36/yr, 37% increase from the current cap.
By current standards it's quite a good deal but I do note you say:Had a problem signing up for it as a week after the email offer came out, they had withdrawn it! I made a complaint via Webchat and it was sorted.
If it's already been withdrawn, it's probably a bit late to share it with other BG customers.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Shell (now TT) BB / Lebara mobi. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
