Boots advantage card points

I’ve just logged in to my boots advantage app and all my points have gone. I tried ringing snd was told via a pre recorded message that points not used would be deleted. However I only knew this by ringing . I had been purposely saving my points and had over £50. Is there any way I can get them reinstated. Are they allowed to do this? Seems very wrong and unfair !

Apparently it changed last week, if you don't swipe the card at least once a year you lose the points.
