Need help for travelling in Euro

I'm a student holding a Barclays plastic. I saw from this website that it's good to apply a plastic from nationwide for travelling in Europe.

Now I'm planning to travel to Europe with a group of 3 students. We plan to spend 1500 pounds (not much because we are students). What's the best way for us to prepare our money? Changing British sterling to Euro, buying travel cheque or just take nationwide plastic with us?

I'm a newer here. I appreciate any little help. Thanks! :T

You will be fine with Nationwide debit or cash card. However, when using debit (or credit) card for purchases, especially in Spain, be aware about a new 'scam':

    Thanks, grumbler!

I read the referral thread. Im right planning to travel to Spain:(

Does it mean I should insist to pay by local currency instead of sterling? How can I know whether retailers do as I insiste or not?

    Many thanks!

Yes. At the last resort pay cash.

All information should be shown on the receipt. See also:
