    You have certainly not helped yourself - out of contract rates can be 50% more than contract ones. (I was out of contract in January paying over 50p - that went down when I managed to get a contract.  Smart meters would also have helped .

    Had you been in contract , getting accurate bills you would have been able to more informed business decisions

    Time for your accountant to also talk to HMRC
    Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
