We are thinking to build a attached lean to Pergola and the length would be 450cm and width is only 240 cm. The post I will use is 4x4 and the joist will be 2x6, can I get away with just 2 posts or I need to install 3 posts?
Your help will be appreciated.

I did a (roughly) 3m by 4m with a 3x3 post at each corner and 4x1 timbers to span the gap. Yes, a bit flimsy, but it should hold up the vines I'm growing quite nicely.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Look at the ones available to buy as kits online and see how many posts they have for a similar size.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
