HSBC £175 Switch

I switched using the exclusive MSE deal. I was happy to switch but didn't realise I needed to CLOSE the old account. I contacted HSBC who confirmed but said because I'd completed the form, they said I'd have to go into a branch to confirm ID and switch instruction (including closing old account). My nearest branch is 20 minutes drive. I went and the staff in the branch had no idea what they were supposed to do and kept me there for an hour, while they tried to sort it out. I left having been told the switch was complete. The switch formally completed on May 5.
Since then, I have been trying to find out when I can expect my £175. I get various answers including an attempt to reduce the amount to £170. Customer support is almost entire autobotic. Answers don't relate to enquiries and sometimes take days. HSBC allow themselves FOUR MONTHS to resolve disputes. I've been promised the money and return calls but they never come.
I fulfilled every requirement but they still don't pay up. Total swizz.
