Garage Door Paid For not Installed

Hi we reserved our property in March 2021 and paid for our extras in October 2021. We paid for extras such a rear garden turf, intergrated dish washer etc and in those extras we paid £1,540 for Install garage external personnel door. We recently had a site visit as we are due to complete next week and the garage door has not been installed but gargle fully built.
Due to material shortages Bovis delayed our house being built. When we reserved they said we would complete by October 2021.

And now they are saying they will install the paid for door after completion. Due to them taking over 15 months to build the house we can’t trust the door will be installed quickly.
We want a full refund of this money before completion as we don’t want to be left chasing them around after. We just want to complete move in and move on with our lives. We can live without a garage door.
My question can we insist the refund for door is received before we complete?

We'd need to see your contract to be sure, but unless there's something unusual in it, I doubt it gives you the right to change your mind about the extras.0

Simply ask, calmly & politely, for what you want. (Anyone can ask whatever they like of someone/something else).
What you're entitled to depends on the law & in particular what contract says. Which I can't read from here:. What does it state regarding this matter please?0 -

So just to be clear - is there just a "hole" in the garage wall where they intend to install the personnel door?
Or is the problem that they "forgot" you wanted a personnel door to the garage, so they haven't left a hole?
Or is there a window instead of a door?
Or something else?
