Trouble with EDF

I’m having real trouble with EDF recently and wonder if anyone else is in the same position.
I am currently on the standard variable rate and looking to fixed into a tariff with them. Whenever I try and do this online I get a message to say I have a complex meter and need to phone up. (I don’t have a complex meter) When I phone up, I get offered a couple of fixed tariffs but am always told their betters tariffs are online. I’ve explained to the people I have spoken to that I’m not able to access any tariffs online as both the website and app tell me to phone up instead. When phoning most recently I was told the ‘complex meter’ message is an error which prevents me from getting a tariff online, when I asked when this error was likely to be resolved she was unable to say, and just said I should keep checking.
I am so frustrated now, as I feel like I’m going round in circles, and really want to lock into a fixed tariff now, before the offers start getting more and more expensive.
Can anyone help me?!

Have you details of what you are being offered by phone ?

I am with Edf and last week they offered me two online tariffs for my gas 12.1 and 11.1 p/KWh. (Just checked now 12.6 and 11.6) - your region may be different.   I declined and will stick with the SVT

According to the MSE article, EDF have two "Fix Total Service 24m" tariffs on offer. From the descriptions given by MSE, the v6 version ("available to existing customers on its standard and default tariffs") should be available to you.
You could call EDF (or webchat them, or whatever) and ask for one of those by name

EDF used to do better tariffs online. They don’t now. They only have 2 fixed tariffs, both end June 24, one includes boiler care, the other one doesn’t.
  • Have you tried the same process using the EDF app on your phone?

Maybe it's implied in your opening post, but I couldn't see it mentioned anywhere.

Thanks all, I was offered v6 & v4 at the end of last week over the phone, but the two advisors I spoke to (both separate calls) told me they had better deals online.
I've been communicating with an advisor over twitter the last two days and they are telling me the phone assistants will offer me the same offering that is online. It's just so frustrating as I can't see it for myself. This advisor was able to tell me the reason I am getting the error message is because I have been coded wrongly on their system. This is clearly through no fault of my own, but this doesn't seem to help my case any!
Think I'll just need to go for it and lock in tomorrow. Whether it's the right idea I'm unsure, but think it will work out better in the long term. It is a fix for 2 years though, so a bit of a gamble, but the way things are going, I can't see the prices getting any better, any time soon!
