I guess it depends what you are wanting it for. If you live in a safe area and are just after something to 'keep an eye on deliveries / the place while you are away then the SD card setup is okay.[Deleted User] said:

If the area has had some issues, or you are protecting something like a fancy car, then a cloud-based approach seems to be the way to go.
I just wanted the former, so I went with Eufy. My cameras are just pointing through the window and are not even located outside lol. I have internal hue sensors that alert me to motion (new-ish feature of the hue sensors) and we have security grills (thanks to previous owner). If the cameras / sensor trigger then it will be a call to neighbours/family/police. Ideally, I would have preferred going to something high quality like a Hikvision NVR/DVR system, but it was just too costly.0
