Hi I have tickets for a Tuesday evening event in October I am looking for a reasonable priced accommodation either close to the O2 Arena Brixton or on a tube/train journey, will be travelling to/from Kings Cross Station

Do you mean the O2 Arena in Greenwich or the O2 Academy in Brixton?

Assuming it is the O2 Academy in Brixton that is being referred to, there is a Premier Inn in Brixton.  I've generally stayed in Croydon (Jurys, Hampton by Hilton, Premier Inn or Travelodge) when attending something at Brixton Academy as there was a good direct bus service between the two places (109 or 250).  East Croydon station is very close to those hotels and is on a direct train line from St Pancras International which is adjacent to Kings Cross.
