Online probate application - Unexpected IHT207 request

I have just submitted an online probate application. All seemed fine, I paid and received acknowledgment fine. Then printed the coversheet to send with the original will and noticed that they are requesting an IHT 207 with the will.
Completely baffled by this. It seems to be a form for someone who lived outside the UK and had assets under £150K in the UK. Totally irrelevant to this case as far as I can see.
However I obviously don't want to discover 3 months down the line that I've done something wrong with the application. Has anyone else experienced or heard about this happening? I'm wondering whether it is some kind of error in their automated system.

Sounds like a glitch, ring the probate office and ask why they have requested this.0

I've given up for now after 70 mins on hold. Posted this while waiting!0

Anyone who has made an online application recently - did the cover sheet request the inclusion of any forms other than the will itself?0
-
Submitted 17 May. Only the will requested.0

submitted March submitted March 2022, only will sent.0

I managed to get through on the phone and didn't get an explanation but was told to ignore it but mention in my cover letter why I was not including it.0

Just an update on this - I know everyone on here likes to hear the end of the story.
Online probate application submitted on 25th June and original will arrived with HMCTS on 27th June. Received an email this morning, 26th July, notifying me that probate has been granted.
So pretty much 4 weeks in total which is much quicker than I was expecting.
As for the request for IHT207. I sent a covering letter with the will saying that this had been requested but that as far as I could see it was totally inapplicable in this case (did not complete an IHT207). There was no further mention of it. My conclusion is that their online application system sometimes generates incorrect requests for additional paperwork.

Received the copies of the Grant in the post today. So less than 5 weeks total from application to receipt.
Maybe HMCTs are getting through their backlog and the system is now functioning more smoothly.0 -
Or maybe we simply just hear about the bad things and the problems (which is always the way on a user forum) when in reality the majority of people have no issues at all.TcpnT said:Received the copies of the Grant in the post today. So less than 5 weeks total from application to receipt.
