Chargeback for Application Online LTD transaction on Credit Card - can't find details

Apologies in advance for the rambling post.
On 17th May my mother tried to buy a Living DNA kit online for my father.
She made the booking in his name and used their joint Halifax Credit Card.
They did not receive any confirmation of order and no kit arrived.
On June 1st she emailed and queried the order.
After some back and forth a Support Assistant from Living DNA advised that the transaction had been refused by their bank.
She included a snip of what appeared to be a declined transaction with the last 4 digits of my parents Credit Card.
When my parents checked their account there was a transaction for £81 on the same date but the name was Application Online LTD.
2 things are strange - Living DNA are inconsistent in saying whether they had an order or not but did at some point provide that snapshot.
However, they confirm that Application Online LTD is not their company.
My father tried to raise a chargeback with Halifax Credit Card Services but they said he had to contact Application Online LTD first.
My parents are a bit older and less au fait with online research etc.
I have tried to find information or contact for Application Online LTD but cannot find any phone or email details, only a registration through Companies House which just has a postal address. (I'm a newby and can't post a link)
Any advice would be welcome.
It seems a strange coincidence that this unknown transaction appeared on the same date that my mum made the Living DNA purchase.
However the main thing is trying to get my parents money back.
As there are no contact details for Application Online Ltd that I can find - how do we best go about this?
Thanks in advance
L

If the amount is the same as they were expecting & at same time/day (ask Halifax to confirm time & date of transaction was made. Not debited). Then your dad can say he has tried to contact the retailer. Just the description is not matching their name. which is more common than people think 👍
If Halifax still say needs to contact them. Then he needs to say was not me, must be fraud if they have not made anyother transaction at that time.
> APPLICATION ONLINERegistered office address changed from The Panorama 130 Park Street Ashford TN24 8EZ England to 61a West Ham Lane Office 4 London E15 4PH on 3 March 2021< Life in the slow lane0 -
I would guess the entry on the statement is just some intermediary they use for processing payment.0

They appear to be a web portal company, some reports appear to say they are mimicking official sites. They may of hack the living dna site. Can’t seem to find any contacts for them. I would be tempted to go back to the bank and report it as fraud0

Have you checked the dates? Do amounts add up?
Note that Application Online Ltd run at least one online service for doing DVLA things... latest review was someone paying £81 for renewing their photo driving card. You parents haven't done anything DVLA related?
These technically are just terrible value services not a scam as long as they dont claim to be the DVLA (or even mimic their site)0
