Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was gammon, egg, chips and beans for the menfolk, I had gammon, egg and salad. Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be having.
Work was ok yesterday - I'll see what today brings, it's my shorter day though but I'm working Saturday morning. too.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's sunny and dry here, I think it's going to be hot again. We watered the garden yesterday evening, everything was so dry. I had been busy all day with washing, tidying etc. I still haven't read back to see what everyone has been up to while we were away.I have a hosptal appt this morning for an osteoporosis implant, won't be there long, at least I'm not usually. This will be my last one I think. We'll pick ds up on the way home and he can spend the rest of the day here. We normally go to our little railway station to watch trains, but they are few and far between at the moment. How do you explain a strike to a 4 year old!Hope everyone has as good a day as they can anyway - take care folks.14

Morning folks.Welcome back Bella, please tell us about your holiday.Coxy -🤞 for your son's final exam. Then he'll really be free from school. 😀Not so bright and sunny here yet. The cloud base is low again, yesterday they lifted but it never really got sunny.I took a parcel down for posting, our own PO closed two three years old when our really lovely Postmaster died in the shop. Both he and it are a miss. Anyway, I didn't want to go up to Oban so I went down to Tarbert, so much quicker and nicer. Before I left I put in another quick wash, hung it out and crossed my fingers. Yes, there were a number of showers so it all took ages to dry but dry it all did.Now that it really is Thursday I'm off to the surgery first thing for fasting bloods and BP, it's been about four years since I've had these tests done. The surgery in Glasgow never scheduled them, probably because of the onset of lockdowns. Normally ( well, usually, well, I really try) I don't eat after approx 4.00pm until late morning so fasting isn't a problem. I've been doing this for the past few weeks to drop some excess me for my holiday. Then I'll collect my meds, pick up my newly cleaned winter duvet and have a mooch round the country store.I hope that everyone is doing fine. Poppy, it would be lovely to hear from you.Happy Thursday to all.13

Morning All
Welcome back Scarlett and Bella, glad you both had a good time.
It's cloudy this morning but dry. We had some sunshine yesterday but it clouded over again by the later afternoon but was still dry. I got another coat of oil on the bit of decking I'm working on. Next is to move everything over and do the rest but first I need to collect more oil which I will do on my way to work.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX11 -
Mornng all
Its a bit dull and overcast here and we are due rain and storms later, some of the clients at work are due to go on a sponsored walk locally so I hope it stays nice for them.
Off to work today and the last working day of the week, noisy Thursday so I am always shattered afterwards.
I weighed myself this morning and ive now lost a stone, I am so pleased as these last two lb have been so stubborn, I shall continue with the diet till we go away, I need to look half decent in my swimmers
Not sure about dinner tonight possibly something with sw chips, I will put a wash on before I go to work but it will have to go on the airer.
Scarlett and Bella welcome back xxx
Nels how are you doing ? xx
Have good days all xxx13 -
Morning
Been gorgeous weather here for few days here bit hot at night so not much sleep
Went to see mum and all is well on that front they were having a BBQ today which confirms the fact that her social life is better than mine!
Having a bit of a panic atm for a really silly reason. As I mentioned before I need a passport renewal so I also need a new piccy. My hair has not been cut since 2019 so now is looking like grey rats tails. I’m afraid after the stroke I lost a lot of my hair and it kindly decided to grow back as thin horrible scraps!. Anyway it has to be done as I don’t want to look at that picture for 10 years so I took the plunge and phoned a local hairdresser – my regular one went under during Covid. So I am booked in for a week today and not looking forward to it at all. I hate the hairdressers anyway but now I have to explain everything.
Assuming they do a good enough job I’ll go straight for the photo then home to lie in a very dark room.
Burger tonight with cheese and bacon unless the temperature rises to predicted levels then it will be salad
Well done on the stone Ruby
Gers hope the blood test goes well
Bella hope you loved Cuba its a beautiful country

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another glorious day forecast and then the inevitable happens! Rain is on the cards for tomorrow. I shall clean the kitchen and bathroom this morning then retire to the garden with a book and make the best of the sun whilst it lasts!
GERS we lost our PO too some time back, as well as the newsagents it was part of. It's a pain having to go in town now just for the PO or a newspaper.. In fact we had little shops dotted all around the village back in the day and a Co-op as well but they have all gone now. The village has grown while the shops have disappeared. We are left with an off-licence which sells lots of beer, wine and spirits but very few groceries! I can't remember the last time I was in there.
I had a lovely day out with df yesterday. We settled on Skipton and the bus from town was packed with hikers! We wondered if something special was going on and then it dawned on us why. They would normally have gone by train! We wandered round the market stalls but nothing tempted me, then we succumbed to the lovely pies again for lunch, followed by sitting outside in the sunshine with a glass of wine before heading for the bus back. No hikers on it this time so it was a peaceful journey back.
COXY it was my eldest DGDs last exam too yesterday and now her school days are over as well. It doesn't seem two minutes since I had the daily battle to get her to nursery. She was a nightmare and I nearly needed a ball and chain on her to get her there.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc.
Lightly raining here and grey, but still warm. I did a 3km run this morning and was slightly quicker than Tuesday. Would love to build up to 5km eventually.
Gas board fitted a new 'sleeve' to the meter yesterday which meant clearing out the understairs cupboard and lots of drilling just as I was on a call! At least they didn't have to dig up the drive like my neighbours across the street. DS2 and I enjoyed the sea bream. Dinner tonight is gammon and sw chips - we are not copying you nmlc - it was already on the food plan for tonight! Saw the George Michael film last night - loved it, and very poignant as he narrated it just before his death. Tonight it's Buzz Lightyear!
Great weight loss Ruby!
Welcome back Bella, hope you enjoyed your holiday
Safe travels Gers - I think I got the boat to Tarbert from Inversnaid? or was it Tarbet? I get confused lol
Yes taff - good for DH!
Hugs to all the poorlies or those feeling low.

Morning all, a lovely one it is too. I could have sworn I posted yesterday but it seems the days are passing so quick I missed
Had a busy day yesterday, had a good tidy & cleaned the under sink cupboard too, hoovered and mopped everywhere in the morning before it got too warm.Called in at the hospice shop, I bought a linen dress from next there the day before, £4 bargain- it's lovely. Kicked myself as they had another and didnt get it, of course it had gone yesterday! I hesitated as it was the next size down so wasn't sure it'd fit, but it does. Been a long time since I fitted into a size 14
so the diet is working well, slow but sure. DH got about 7 books too, keep him busy while his knee is keeping him off work. We picked up DGS after & took him to DS2s,he got DGD, stayed for a little while so we could watch the children as DS wanted to cut his hedges. We just had cold bits & pieces for tea when we got back, DS1 was out. Might be more of the same tonight.Hope you all enjoy your day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11
