PCN Charge... What do I do?

I have received a letter from Shakespeare Martineau Legal advice who have been instructed by TRACE Debt Recovery to recover an unpaid PCN.
This is the first letter I have received regarding this matter.
What do I do? as they are saying 'court proceedings may be issued'
I have not made any contact with any party to discuss the PCN, but I do remember the incident where I was waiting for a secure car park gate to open and was not parked as stated
Do I contact them or just ignore?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have received a letter from Shakespeare Martineau Legal advice.
A new name - never heard of them.

Please show us this daft letter so we can laugh at it and see a new one.

They actually appear to be a 'proper' firm of solicitors (not roboclaim thugs) so what the hell are they doing getting into bed with Trace and parking firms and letting their reputation turn to crap?

As well as showing us your letter (cover your ID and car reg/references) please check your logbook.  Shows the wrong address, doesn't it? Big problem.

LOL...Grizebeck you should ring them up for a chat and say you can't find your reference but do they know what this market will do to their reputation?!

Wonder if Trace will answer, or SHMA?

Might be worth the laugh and recording if this OP fancies making the call and recording it and seeing what they say - tell them you are recording the call - then coming back here with the recording.

We are very keen to gather evidence of bullying and lying by DRAs. Needed this Summer for the final Govt public consultation.

The more bullying and lying we can prove, the better, as long as new posters only make the call if you are robust and not easily fooled.  You'd need to know why you are not liable and why they can't add the fake £70 but get them to talk crap about it.

Thanks guy for putting my mind at ease... I doubt this will be the last letter!
I'll try and make that call as you've suggested and I'll try and record it!

I have, paid them over £1,000 today :(

Companies House use them for late filing penalties

Thankfully it was not my money :)
