Despite having a terrible business model (which is why they went under) and them being very economical with the truth around renewables, sticking with Bulb is probably the only option at the moment. They are shockingly awful, but at least the lights still come on at the moment! I switched to monthly variable direct debit so they don't get to hoard my money. It was a gamble, but is paying off as the almost £200 I am not giving them each month is building up in my bank account to insulate for the eye watering winter bills that I fully expect in a few months time.

Bear in mind that if you go on to your online account and click on payments and statements, you have the option to reduce your d/d.

Mine at the moment shows a d/d of £104.01 and the account £34 in debit. But it will still allow me to reduce the d/d to £93.23

Bulb's energy is no more renewable than BG, SP, EDF, Shell, Octopus etc.

I'm surprised you say that.  The reason I'm interested in your comment is that a very, very small bit of the electricity that Bulb sell comes from the solar panels on my roof!  Are you arguing that none of these companies is any more or less green than the others?

    Yes.
Here's a page from one of the three recognised greener energy companies (Good Energy, Ecotricity, Green Energy UK) that explains how the other energy companies buy REGOs to "green" their fossil fuel energy:
And an article specifically about Bulb:
And here's an article from the UK Government where they're investigating this:
