HMPO credit check!

Hi

I was checking my Experian account and it showed that Her Majesty’s Passport Office made a Identification- Generic Check back in February 2022.

Although it said it was a soft check, but I am worried because I did not apply for a passport renewal.

My only recent dealing with HMPO was in November 2021 renewing my son’s passport.

Does anybody know what kind of check could that be and if I need to do something to prevent a fraud or something?

Could be simply down to the delay in the processing time of passports, if you are doing a passport for an under 18 I suspect it's quite normal to check your ID is genuine as you are applying for them

The child passport was already sent out in November 2021. 

This check was done February 2022, and no check was made between applying to renew my child passport and the date they sent it out.
