My daughter is buying her first home and wondering if there are any offers or incentives for new to the energy market customers or any advice on who is the best provider for brand new customers, thanks?

With the market being what it is at the moment, offers and incentives are poor.
When she moves in ensure they take meter readings themselves (don't rely on anyone else) and take a picture if possible. You'll be in a deemed contract with the current supplier, contact them and get set up. The deemed contract rates will be the SVR tariff. Once she's been in for a few months and gets used to the usage she can look for what's on offer but don't get your hopes up!
Also remind her that the rates of the SVR will be going up again in October (50% maybe) so make sure they budget accordingly.1 -
She will automatically become a customer of whichever company is already supplying the house she is buying.
She needs to take readings (pics too could help if any discrepancies) as soon as she gets access to the property. Same goes for water meter if it has one. She then needs to contact the supplier, details should be given in the info from her solicitors if the previous owners haven't left anything.
The supplier will take her details and the opening meter readings. Once she's done this, she can look to change suppliers but very few are taking on new customers at the moment. Unfortunately there's nothing special for new customers.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
