National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme - online classes

This may already have been discussed so apologies if i'm repeating an old post. I recently received a police notice to attend a driving course having driven 5 miles over the speed limit. Having duly signed the forms and received a letter to sign up for the in person or virtual course I went online to book. I assumed when the list of providers popped up on to the screen they were all the same price. It appears not and it is worth shopping around. I realised by complete chance that different providers of the online course charge different fees. The cheapest being £73 and the most expensive at £95.
So if you are booking check out the list of providers and the prices here before booking which is curtrently listed here. Sorry, as a newbie MSE wont let me post the link so typing it in here - www.ukroed.org.uk/faqs/cost-of-a-speed-awareness-course/

Thanks for the info but I think this belongs in the Motoring column?
But even so, I hope that you enjoy the course because I went on one a few years ago (same as you, a few miles over) and was very fed up about it all. In the event, though, I did actually find it very helpful indeed and quite interesting. Better than having points on my licence, anyway. And also met some nice people. (Pre-covid days of course, I'd just do it all online now).
Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. It's worth learning for sure but also worth noting if you were caught at "a few miles over" say 35mph in a 30, then your car would have been showing 37,38 maybe even 40 depending on accuracy, so there is no excuse if you get caughtMalMonroe said:Thanks for the info but I think this belongs in the Motoring column?
