Sat Nav in France

Hi all, hoping someone can help me as I have googled and googled and can't really find a certain answer. We're driving to France for a holiday next week, and would like to use our sat-nav to help us find our way around. The Sat-Nav we have is via Apple CarPlay where an iPhone is hooked up to the car via a cord, and then Apple Maps is essentially screencast to the on-board display. I know there are rules around both using a mobile phone in a car and also using the sat-nav, in that it can't be used to alert you to where speed cameras are. If I can find a way to switch off that function on Apple Maps, would using the phone for a sat-nav like this be legal? Has anyone had experience of driving in France with this Sat-Nav set up? I've been a passenger in a car in France many times but never the driver, so a bit nervous about getting everything done legally for my first trip! Many thanks in advance for any advice!

I've never hesitated to use my Android phone for navigation in France, probably millions of French people are using their phones in this way, And I can't see why the system you're proposing would be any different as long as speed trap warnings (if available) are disabled, as you say.
