Just opened a not so nice letter from dcb legal solicitors. I was wondering and would be grateful for help/ advice. I don’t understand all this legal jargon as of a certain age.

Please re-read the post by @Coupon-mad on 4 July 2021 at 5:42PM on one of your other threads.
Is it now five threads we have about one parking incident in August 2017?
Only two months until it is out of time.
Your pictures above contain enough information to uniquely identify you and your parking incident.
DCBL's reference number is showing.
Spring Parking's PCN number is showing.
Your vehicle's registration number is showing.
You do understand that the parking companies trawl this forum just waiting for people to trip themselves up.
I too am of a certain age - whatever that means.

In one of the threads sbout this case, you said:" Think it was an overnight overstay in car park of Tesco express. "What do you mean? You left your car there all night?
Or do you mean that the ANPR camera images got it wrong and it was in fact 2 visits?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You need to respond by email and point out that this is what's known as a 'double dip'. Even the new Government Code of Practice (not implemented yet) calls it that because I told them about it!
Read this from the BPA trade body:
https://www.britishparking.co.uk/ANPR
"As with all new technology, there are issues associated with its use:a) Repeat users of a car park inside a 24 hour period sometimes find that their first entry is paired with their last exit, resulting in an ‘overstay’. Operators are becoming aware of this and should now be checking all ANPR transactions to ensure that this does not occur."
and read this old discussion:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5550336/double-dip-parking-list-of-casesThat is what happened to you that day.
You need to tell the parking firm to find the 'orphan images' in between the 'first in, last out' pics their system wrongly defaulted to, and insist they cancel this PCN or you will counterclaim for abuse of your data.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
