External door hinges

I've gone to view a lovely new-build house, but the patio doors have been hung with external hinges. I always thought you put the hinges on the inside for security purposes.
So I'm now wondering what else the builders have done that's a bit barmy.
Any advice much appreciated.

" Patio Doors " don't have hinges as such.0

And if they do - surely they're (if French doors) cut into the frames / door .... in order the screws aren't accessible? If not .... you're right, it's stupid. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

Correction - they are French doors, opening outwards. PVC type. The hinges are most definitely on the outside. I can see the screws. There isn't a fancy new secure "outdoor" hinge knocking about the place?0

Unless you want either leaky doors or French doors which open inwards, then the hinges have to go on the outside. There are millions of different types, but almost certainly some of the bolts which hold the hinges on will be inaccessible without being able to open the door. Even if not, it would still be quicker to smash the glass.0
