8 weeks is how long they get to respond to your complaint before you can escalate it to the Ombudsman for not having had an answer. Most complaints are answered much sooner and if you dont like the answer you can go straight to the ombudsman.
Would be fantastic if the ombudsman resolved complaints in 8 weeks as you suggested but 8 months is much more realistic0
