Clear plastic tubes on electric strimmer?

I’ve just bought a garden strimmer online and am trying to set it up. The instructions are just a collection of unclear diagrams with no text, and I’m struggling with a thin clear plastic tube (see picture) and what I’m supposed to do with it - I’m worried I’ll do something wrong and end up cutting through something I’m not supposed to!

I’ve tried googling but all the results suggest a plastic tube is only used for petrol strimmers - any ideas?? Thanks!

That is the strimmer cord that spins at high speed and actually cuts the grass there is a spool of it in the head and a bit if fed out when you bump the head on the ground

It the cord is too long, when the strimmer starts up it will simply be cut off when it hits the metal edge shown in the lower left of the final photo.

Also the strimmer cord will only cut grass ,weeds etc and will not damage wood (fences ,sheds etc ) but just be carefull next to cables ( tv,sky etc )

Wear goggles. It's surprising what gets thrown up in your face.

They can also damage trees so also be careful when near them.
