If I catch covid before I go away will Ryan air refund me? I have travel insurance but my understanding is that they will not pay out if Ryan air offer a voucher. WE have 4 flights booked for the family and are restricted due to time off at work and kids being back at uni etc so will be unlikely we will be able to use a voucher.

No different to you breaking your leg or otherwise not being able to fly. Not Ryanair's concern. It's your travel insurance. Check if they actually cover for covid as some may not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Churchills travel insurance says this "From the 5th October 2021, our policies will provide the following cover for COVID-19 (including any variants) and other pandemics for all trips booked but you are yet to take and any future trips you book:
Cancelling a trip if:
- You or any insured person, a close relative or travelling companion are diagnosed with COVID-19 or a pandemic disease."

You'll need a medical certificate for the travel insurance firm if you are afflicted.
