I am due to change my car on the motability scheme. Looking at the AP prices the type of car i need the prices have increased a lot. I understand prices have increased on a lot of things everywhere.
My query is do any of car retailers allow you to pay AP in installments rather than in one payment?
Thank you for any advice given

Yes, you can pay in installments but the full amount must be paid on the day you collect your car, otherwise you can't collect the car. You will very likely have quite a wait for any car you choose because some dealers have waiting times of as long as 10 months.
You must also have at least 12 months remaining on your existing mobility award when you order a new car.
If you're having trouble paying the AP you can also speak to motability because there maybe some help available with the cost. There's also still quite a lot of cars available with lower AP.

Just to add a little more to this. If the vehicle you choose is a higher spec and there lower spec ones available in that same make/model then they may refuse help with the AP.

Its shocking how much the prices have increased. My lease is due to end September, and all my previous cars have had AP of £250.00, the same like for like car is now £3899.

I will opt to keep my current car for an extra six months and see what the prices do when the next price review happens in October. I just don't have the money to pay nearly 4k.

Im hoping it's just to do with the chip issue and things start to reduce, (here's hoping)
