Eco Renewables were quick at getting back to me but seem more 'salesy' and told me only Tesla has a battery system that can provide power during a power cut, for example. Also cheaper, but less thorough so I assume the real price will be higher.
I can only comment on my own experience but they installed for the prices quoted to me via email without an actual survey.  This included needing scaffolding which they did not expect or quote for
That's good to hear. They just seemed to want me to decide everything instead of suggest. For example, didn't ask about my existing setup with a single string that is also shaded, etc. Then the odd powerwall comment.
They installed pylontech for me and these will only supply power to a "socket" not take over the running of the entire house.  My freezer is connected the outlet on the Lux inverter so will run until the batteries are discharged in a power outage.
Yes, they did mention that, but it's not the only option, although may be a good enough one for most people. And they only mentioned that when I pushed, so I wonder why.
Eco did not wire my socket in... they did however leave me the "fitting"... not sure why they wouldn't fit it maybe some regulation.  There are other solutions but I believe they require significant rewiring
OK, sounds like what they have offered here, too (about £16k for 16 panel setup + battery). So far only one installer has offered anything differently, even when asking aside from the one who uses SolarEdge for inverter+panels+battery.

Prices from everyone are very high, though. Is that normal now?
    Cheapest one:
    • 10 x 395w panels
    • GivEnergy Hybrid 3.6kw Inverter
    • GSE in-roof mounting
    • Eddi immersion controller
Total: £9900 or £12,300 with GivEnergy 9.5kW battery
If you subtract the GSE and Eddi that still is like £8300 for the no-battery option. Have had other quotes up to £20k!!!
Prices are way up.... but that seem across the board.... no consolation but this is a quote from Feb 2020

Of course we could go further back in time and my 3.99 kWh system in 2011 cost well over £12 K... Inverter +panels+fitting no batteries in those days

    3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch (£3.36 /W).
    17 Yingli 235 panels
    Sunnyboy 4000TL inverter
    Sunny Webox
Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since.

13 Feb 2020 LUX AC 3600 and 3 X Pylon Tech 3.5 kW batteries added...

20 January 2024 Daikin ASHP installed

Thanks - I guess it is expensive. The wholesale prices I see out there with vat ex - those are going to be the real cost atm right due to 0% VAT on all of this currently? If so, when I add all of that together it is about £10,900 (when I include the average GSE of £1200 across all suppliers for my setup). So if I'm being quoted £13,000 it means £2100 for all the labour and paperwork?
