ATOM 1 year fix

Is atom a safe place to put savings for a year? Never heard of them but they are offering 2.60% and monthly interest. I’m wanting to put 50k in. I currently have my money in Santanders Esaver paying a measly 0.05% 🥹

I’ve used Atom for a while. No issues at all. You get the 85k protection.2

I have a couple of Atom Fixed Rate savers and their Instant Saver and have had no problems at all.
They're app-only (no browser-based online banking) so you'll need to ensure your phone is compatible with the app for the duration of the fixed rate. Worth bearing in mind if you have an older phone.0 -
FSCS protected up to £85k and I’ve found the app very good. Also immediate Faster Payments etc. Go for it.0

I find Atom spot on, I’m expecting those rates to rise so I would hold on a bit

I’ve been with them for a while. Three standout things for me - they often offer market-leading fixes; I like their app, one of the best on the market, as they’re a born digital bank; customer service is great - I had a query and their in-app live chat was immediate, helpful and responsive. They’ve also recently joined the Confirmation of Payee (CoP) scheme. I was very impressed that my bank immediately recognised the details of the Atom 2.6% fix that I’d taken out seconds before!1

That's good news and will obviously give peace of mind when funding any Atom accounts (no real need for a £1 test transaction) but I wonder if it will also help to reduce the number of transactions to banks like Atom that are held-up due to the sending bank's anti-fraud measures?TheWoodler said:They’ve also recently joined the Confirmation of Payee (CoP) scheme.
