recommendation for laptop...

looking to get away from sitting at this desk and fancy a laptop.

currently i mainly use my pc for internet, word documents, downloading music/films, uploading photos, burning cd/dvds but do fancy trying online gaming.

i have been told that vista is heavy on useage of ram?

want a large screen say 17" and something that wont slow down when say burning a dvd on nero which causes this pc to go into a coma

don't touch acers - poor build quality. If you're on a budget have a look at Dell, if you have a bit more money to spend then Asus who make Sony's and Toshibas laptops for them (but are in my opinion better).
