Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone has invested with NatWest/Coutts and would be willing to share their experience? I am considering using their multi-asset fund to invest c. £400k.

Generally, the banks and their private banking arms are expensive and not that great. They don't need to be as people who use them don't tend to look at alternatives and go with their bank instead.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.5

Have you considered taking advice from an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA)?

Thanks very much Eyeful. I'll take a look at the links. I have met an an independent as well. They are both fairly expensive the main difference between advice being that the bank encouraged me to be more cautious than the independent. Not that he seemed reckless!0

Have you "shopped round" at all? It might be worth checking on independent advisers in your area and checking on services/fees etc.
Tick "confirmed independent" when the menu comes up and the other specialisms required.

Do you know what the charges are? For the fund and the advice ?
Most regular posters on here do not take/pay for financial advice ( although some do ), so just want to clarify if you are going down the financial advice route or the DIY route?0 -
