DWP Compensation Recovery

Options
Hi,
I received a letter today from the DWP informing me that I will have to pay back the NHS for the cost of any treatment for my compensation claim.  It seems very strange as I have not received any compensation as yet or even been informed of any compensation offers.  Is it normal for the DWP to do this even if there is no compensation?
I didn’t visit the NHS as I had treatment through my private medical and even though I have not been able to work due to my injury I have not claimed any benefits or DLA, so I do not owe the DWP anything and I have informed them, they told me to destroy/ignore the letter.  It just all seems very strange as all my research has soon that they only come after people after compensation has been awarded.  Its just put me a bit on edge so if anyone has any idea why this has happened or a similar experience be great to know.
Thank you so much

It's a standard letter sent for some compensation claims. Your solicitor, if you're using one, should reclaim any treatment charges, if any, from the other side as part of any settlement.
