Why is it so slow to top up my Visa card?

My smile Visa card is part of the Co-Op Bank. When I get close to the card's limit, I can top it up from my smile current account, however, I have to wait about two days for the payment to be credited to my Visa card account.

Is this a standard credit card, or a prepaid Visa?  If it's a standard card, you don't "top it up", you repay some or all of the balance - is this what you mean?

Ordinary payments can take a day or two to filter through the systems before they show on your credit card (seems daft in this day and age, I know, but that's how it is).

So looking at it the Smile Visa Card is a normal CC.
The systems only update overnight.
What you will notice is that while you do not see the credit on the statement, straight away. You will see your available balance increase once the payment has been made 👍
