What wet food does your fur baby have?
Felix has been causing some extremely serious problems. FB has a group about it, there is a group action going on.
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

Hi, our beloved kit (sadly deceased earlier this year (and greatly missed) - but not connected to her vomiting) used to vomit about 3/4 times a week and did so for the 12 years of her life. After much research and experimentation, we discovered that she was best fed dry food with no grain. (Arden Grange chicken and potato was the best for her) and obviously had plenty of water nearby. She could never tolerate wet food at all. She was an indoor cat and so we were able to monitor her intake. Vets never did find out why she was so sensitive to food, could never find anything wrong and were mystified.

@Da_Crojanz - as your cat has long fur, I assume that you brush it every single day - as recommended by vets? Furballs reduce to zero when that happens. And it's normally a very pet-owner bonding thing to do.

Since our lovely pet died we haven't been able to think of adopting another one but maybe next year - we know so many cats are crying out for loving homes . . .  it's just not going to be easy.

So hard to know when to get a new companion.  A year on from ours going and I still think I hear her stomping about.  I know it's my imagination.  And know that I should not be tempted into luring the neighbour visiting felines into our house....

Our Artemis used to vomit about once a week.  We never took her for testing for it because it seemed obvious to us that it was down to her being a bit of an idiot cat.  She was mad and hyper at times, would tear around the house and then the garden and charge in and inhale her food and then do her "wall of death" routine around the lounge and then the garden and then come in and go splat!  Why she couldn't do it out in the garden always boggled me.

  • Our long hair has had a reduction in hair balls with a small dose of Katalax every few days. We have also taken to feeding him seperately to the others as he was bolting his food to get to the other cat's bowls and clear theirs too. He still vomits but its definitely less.
    Good luck

I’m so glad your cat is feeling better, one of my cats tended to vomit quite a lot, and vets were not able to diagnose, it was only after researching online myself I found that food allergies might be a problem.

I switched him to Purina Pro Plan HA hypoallergenic dried food, and the vomiting stopped, I have tried to introduce other foods (including those labelled as hypoallergenic) as I don’t like him just eating dried food, but the sickness starts up again, now I just feed him the Purina HA and he is fine, it doesn’t look or smell appetising but he loves it.

I know this was not the problem with your cat but I thought this information might help others reading this thread if they have similar problems.

Our older boy is aged 10 and used to throw up, so much so that I was about to get vet checks done.I then got info through on an nhs staff discounts website about cat food from Cats Republic. Never thought it would work; I told them he had a delicate tummy and that I wanted him to maintain a healthy weight. It actually stopped him from vomitting. I've since tried him on other cat foods (as an experiment)  but he throws up straight away after eating. The first box is dirt cheap so may be worth giving it a go.
