A jumbo passport is of course useful to avoid quickly filling up with full-page visas, but European entry/exit stamps are compact.
But that also does depend on how considerate the officer is... many love starting a new page rather than adding to an already in use page, jaunty angles in the middle of the page etc all means that these things last a lot less than they could if they tried to maximise the stamps per page.

Thankfully have my Irish passport for EU travel so no stamps eating up space.

Also have an irish passport being born in NI, also have the passport card which is handy for ID, although use the booket one to travel as the irish passport card is not compatible with the automatic scanners and it has to be checked at immigration manually.
