The wildlife cam in the hedge is a double-good idea as it gets over accusations of "spying" and "privacy". Can always say it was in the hedge to see the birds / rats / mice / ants / hedgehogs or whatever and how surprised you were it caught someone keying the car...1

How would it get over the accusations? A camera is a camera some don't see beyond that.Grumpy_chap said:The wildlife cam in the hedge is a double-good idea as it gets over accusations of "spying" and "privacy". It's all down to data storage and handling, you can film anything you want in public.Norman_Castle said:Not sure of the legalities of filming directly onto the highway (or if I'd care) but could cameras be fitted in the hedge? With home cctv there's normally options for multiple cameras so you might as well use them. Some newer cameras work without ir light so may be smaller or small cameras could be used with a separate ir light.1 -
The only "privacy" relevance would be if you were filming into neighbour's properties. Nothing wrong with a camera which just covers a public road.1

That's not correct other countries have more cameras than us in total and also when we account for differences in population.
