Chasing wins

Hi all, just wondered, do you chase for things you have won but not received? I won something and not received but it feels a bit rude to chase for it?! But on the other hand I'm a bit annoyed as I've only won a handful of things and this is the second time I've not received the prize!

Definitely chase - I'm not sure why so many prize providers are so tardy when it comes to sending out prizes but it's not uncommon to have to badger them.

It depends on the prize and how long it has taken. Most competitions state it can take around 30 days to receive your prize.
If it is a voucher via email though or if they have stated the prize has been sent out, I'd likely chase it sooner.
A lot of the time it is another company that sends the prizes out, so it may take the host of the competition to send them a reminder or prompt them.

But yes, if they have announced you as a winner, you are allowed to ask politely.
If given enough time, chances etc and they do not respond or update you, then you have every right to report it to ASA.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

I always chase. If I've won it, then I expect to receive it. Sometimes its a simple oversight and the prize arrives very quickly after giving them a gentle prod. Its the ones that give excuse after excuse, take months and don't send until I threaten to report to the ASA that I hate. It takes the shine off of winning.
  • I have won a dress said to be worth £105 in beginning April I am chasing. I won a prize from fix radio in Feb and one in Jan   small (prizes) I am chasing all of them.

I am being ignore with all of them but I will continue to chase. I am still at  the polite stage I have not threaten them yet but I  am about to.

I won a prize last year from Black and Decker I won the runners up prize. I got a very strange email back to say I didn’t meet the criteria for the tool but I did match it for the vacuum ( first prize) but that had been won by some sone else . I search and searched the T&C and it said nothing about matching a criteria. So I came back and ask them if this was a gender thing and they sort of said yes. I chased and chased thenI named and shamed them all over Facebook they publicly apologised and sent my prize the next day.I wont entercomps form them ever again

I hate chasing but I entered in good faith I don’t cheat I won fair and square.

Out of well over 600 prizes I only had a handful that I needed to enquire about and only one that took more than that to get the prize.
