HSBC £170 Switching Bonus

Hi everyone,

I have recently switched my account to HSBC to get the £170 switching bonus. Once all requirements have been met (i.e. 2 x DD/SO and £1500 paid in) it says the £170 will be paid into my account within 30 days. Just wondering if anyone else has had theirs yet and did it take the full 30 days or are they a bit quicker?

Thanks,
Heather

I received the switching bonus less than two weeks after paying in the £1500, which I did a few days after the switch completed.

It seems I won't get mine as there was a third condition to be met. You must qualify for a £1000 overdraft, whether you want one or not. I assume because of just £14000 annual income.
  • Thanks both - I did qualify for the overdraft but didn't take it - I think this is still ok as it said it was optional, you just have to qualify for it.

I didn't want an overdraft and also didn't qualify for one (£1000)  but got the £170 today. 10 days after opening account...... nice

    That's good news :) I also got my £170 after 10 days!
  • I got mine within 9 days of opening the account which I thought was quite speedy!
  • I have been waiting for almost 2 months and have not received it yet despite chatting with them twice online.

I have been waiting for almost 2 months and have not received it yet despite chatting with them twice online.
I too have been waiting. I tried the on line chat but they replied it was beyond their scope and I had to call 03457404404.

Was told that some who applied in April, May & June had experienced a glitch and you have to call to get it actioned and then the money should be in within 20 days. Maybe!
