stair lifts

My husband is starting to find stairs difficult because of arthritis. I thought it would be some years yet before we needed to consider a stair lift but the other day, he said he felt it was time to look into it. On further discussion, he said he feels he needs it because he is" wobbly". He had labyrinthitis a year ago and still has episodes, so he often feels dizzy at the top of the stairs. I would be interested to know if anyone has similar experience, please,  and if a stair lift would be useful in these cirumstances.

If he feels it is time to look into the idea, he probably needs one. He is probably struggling with the idea of becoming more infirm, and doesn't want to come out and say that he needs one.

They are available second-hand, either refurbished or direct from the original user, if money is tight. If there is someone handy in the family, they can probably remove and install a second-hand stairlift.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

He should consider getting a proper assessment. Stair lifts aren’t necessarily going to be safer for someone who is wobbly, if they wobble off the stair lift and fall. Has he seen/spoken to his GP about his labyrinthitis and his concerns?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I agree with the wobbly risks. Even though there's often a lap belt, you've  got to put it on - at the top of the stairs!
