Printer not connecting to laptop wifi

I have an Epson XP-455 printer, which my laptop was connecting wirelessly and printing ok.  And then, after problems with my BT router, which involved replacement with another of the same, and then a further replacement by the latest Hub 2.
However, I can't get my laptop to connect wirelessly, with the replacement A or the latest Hub 2.  But, my phone which never connected wirelessly before, does now, and prints wirelessly fine.  Every so often, the laptop shows a message that the printer is in error mode, but not what that is about.

So........any help?

TIA
David.

Your title is confusing as the printer connecting directly to your laptop "wirelessly" isn't one of the two normal options available unless your printer supports bluetooth.

In most cases you would connect all your devices to your home wifi and your computer then communicates to the printer via the wifi. Some models, like yours, enables the printer to generate its own WiFi and so you can connect your computer to the printers WiFi and print via that connection but that tends to be shorter range and obv means having to switch wifi each time you want to print so is only worth doing if there is a reason why you want the printer off the network.

Assuming you are printing successfully via your phone and its using your home wifi then the first step would be to remove the printer from the computer and then re-add it as a first step.

The printer and laptop connected wirelessly with the old router, via wifi.  I don't think there's any facility to do it via bluetooth.

just delete the printer from the laptop and then  re-install it. The printer will have got a new ip address from the router. Then set it with a fixed ip address and it shouln’t happen again.

Uninstalled via Control Panel, re-installed via drivers downloaded from Epson site.  Still printing wirelessly via mobile ok, still not printing via laptop!!

If a wireless printer is set up properly it should have a fixed IP address, otherwise it becomes a game of "whats this thing's IP address today?" when you need to print anything.

So if it was a fixed IP on the old router you probably need to set a new one in the range of the new router.  Sometimes you have to do this from the printer, not from the laptop.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about fixed IP addresses, I think I originally setup the printer and it just worked.

I had a similar problem and discovered that my laptop was connecting via the 5ghz signal and the printer was on 2.4 ghz. I set the laptop to connect via 2.4 ghz and everything now works perfectly.
