What's amusing is that I'm fairly sure I was the first person on this site to post about the possibility of this being paid in instalments based on precisely the link you shared there @frugalmacdugalfrugalmacdugal said:Ultrasonic said:Cardew said:Have you seen definite confirmation of this? . Whilst it's slightly flattering that more are now seeing it as a real possibility I genuinely don't think this has been confirmed. The government document could be referring to people receiving an individual payment at some point within a 6 month period.
@Cardew I believe I found a link to a story in The Sun at the time of the original discussion which I wasn't going to place too much stock in! The trouble is once it's been published in one place it tends to get repeated. It may be true but I don't think we should be treating it as definite right now, hence the wording of my initial reply in this thread.2 -
I should have actually read that inews article before replaying above. It doesn't actually say that there will be 6 monthly payments as far as I can see?Cardew said:Ultrasonic said:

The payment is expected from October 2022 and will be spread over six months rather than one lump sum payment. You do not have to apply for it.'

To be clear, it's not 'my understanding' one way or the other - my point is we don't know for certain what will happen. The point you've just made is one I made previously in favour of the idea of it being spread over a number of payments. Here's the original discussion for context and to save me trying to summarise:Cardew said:Ultrasonic said:
