Thank you. I knew I had some old remote control in a drawer.  I don't remember how or why but I found the exact same remote so problem sorted.

Never bought anything from eBay.

It is possible to take it apart, clean with water and dry before reassembling it and there is a good chance it will then work OK.   I have done this with lots of Sky ones but not a Humax one.

I am not very good at taking things apart.  I don't see anything simple to take the back off.  It is working on and off. With the other one I am managing at the moment.  Will see how things are tomorrow and I do know that Amazon have got several on Amazon with the correct no on them/  I retuned the one I found in the drawer and it seem to work for now.
