Good morning, it's a quiet grey start here.
Yesterday kept going really dark but no rain fell.
My little furry friend has gone home, we miss him, though he will be staying again.
Yesterday was ok, got quite a few jobs done, and dgd came for tea as usual.DH is a lot better, still coughing, but looks and feels ok.
it's our Residents' meeting today. Our chairman died a few weeks ago, and the constitution of the group says we have to have a temporary chairman till we elect a new one, so the treasurer and myself (I'm the secretary) are sharing the role till we can get sorted out,.It's only a little group at the moment but we have to do things properly. Don't know how it'll work out, but we can try to keep it going, which the members want to do.
Coxy, old parents can be so difficult ( though I'm an old parent myself!!) I used to get people telling me what a nice, charming man my dad was - he was, but not to me! I was the nearest but certainly not the dearest. He used to tell me he preferred my sister to me, unfortunately she was a couple of hundred miles away and didn't have the day to day dealings with him that I did. Still, those days are gone and I can't make any better of it now.
We are supposed to be going away in the caravan to N Yorks on Thursday, I don't feel prepared at all. It's not far for us though, and somehow we'll be ready by then.
Going to the quiz tonight, so it'll be nice to see our friends.
Thinking of our poorly people and those struggling with life - take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the starts nmlc and Scarlett.
Not very promising this morning again, yesterday was overcast all day with a couple of little showers thrown in. Washing stuck inside but will put it out when I get home if it stays dry. Will try to cut the grass later and get some more pressure washing done although it gets a bit chilly.
Swimming last night that I enjoyed, will try to go again this week, I need to tone up a bit after losing a few pounds.
Lovely pony Mehefin, hope you have many happy years together.
Congrats Gers, lovely to hear of a new baby in the family.
Hope the poorlies are recovering.
(Just pressed something and half the post disappeared!).
Have a good day, take care. XX

Morning everyone.Grey and damp here too, there's a hint of the sun under the clouds.Yesterday my trip down and up to Glasgow was good. I dropped a bag off at the CS, two bags at the tip, sent the parcel to my cousin, bought some veg at a great greengrocer, had my dental check up, did some shopping and was back home by 2.30pm. The check up was fine, no problems though I've elected to have a wee repair to one front tooth which has worn down a bit. Dentist thinks that I'm grinding on it at night, I'm not convinced but, whatever the reason, it's going to be done in a months time. It's good to have the fridge looking fuller. Last night I cooked some YS chicken thighs which I'd picked up earlier. I'll shred them today, mix some with mayonnaise and sweet corn and freeze the rest. There's some peppers to roast and a cauliflower to chop and rice.I'll also do more in the guest bedroom. Even though I've cleared my things I've left DM's to last. They'll go into vacuum bags and then into a storage box. My cleaner has cancelled for a month (two visits) as she's had a family bereavement so I'll flick a furry duster around and whizz with the vacuum.Take care everyone, happy Tuesday to all.11

Morning all
Dry and bright here and looks to be a nice day, someone told me yesterday that it will get up to 30 deg here by Fridaywhich would be lovely but we will wait and see !
Off to work for me and we will make a flapjack today with seeds and nuts, only the one client today as one is off sick so a fairly peaceful day.
Our new shed is arriving today, we went to look for one at the weekend at a local place but the prices were shocking - almost £1000 for a simple wooden one , I looked online and found a metal one which is what we wanted for 1/3 of the price it will arive today and we will put it up as and when we can, I am actually very excited about the prospect of a new shed
Dinner tonight will be creamy garlic chicken from the PON book, its very tasty and low calorie, Im still stuck on a 12lb loss my body doesnt seem to want to shift anymore but I will press on and hope for the best.
Gers lovely news re the new baby xxx
Mehefin lovely looking pony I hope she brings you much happiness xxx
Have good days all xxx11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for starting off. All cloud cover here too although sunny spells are forecast in among. No wind at the minute but I said that yesterday and it came back again!
I managed my pottering in the back garden yesterday and fed all the pots. They seem at a standstill with not much sun on them this year so far. I also put my plumber's head on and sorted the leak out when I put the hose on. I have been wasting a lot of water every time I used it and being on a meter every drop is precious!
I have the bedding on the go (postponed from yesterday) as today is a better forecast so that will get pegged out shortly. Should soon dry as it feels much warmer.
So being Tuesday it's coffee morning then lunch day with BFF today. She had her 2nd chemo on Friday and again has no ill effects, although her hair is now coming out thick and fast. So she is now alternating between her wig or a turban. We were hoping it would be warm enough to sit out in the beer garden for the first time this summer so fingers crossed for that.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. MEHEFIN gorgeous pony, have a happy life together. COXY commiserations. Like others I've been there too. I wore myself to a frazzle caring for my mum (as well as working and looking after family) and whatever I did it was never enough and I got very few words of thanks. My DB however could do no wrong. Have a good day folks if you can and take care and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

Morning
Gorgeous day again here its just perfect temperature for me now 30 degrees yuk no thank you that will equal a sleepless night.
Mind you we could plan our first spa day for a while who needs sleep!
Happy shed day Rubes!
Yesterday was a busy one but lots done. I had a call from mums neighbour that she thinks one of her friends wants to buy mums house. Haven't even got a price yet so he will have to wait for the valuations but Ive said he can come for a viewing on Friday so we shall have to see. Apparently he's a bin man with the council and arranged an extra run when we were clearing the food out. Few brownie points there
Nothing much planned today but plenty I could do
Last night changed the food plan as I found some turkey and leek pie shoved at the back of the freezer goodness knows how long ago I made it but it was lovely. Tonight will be fish fingers I think but who knows
Have a good day all11 -
Morning everyone and thanks for the start ScarletR x
Bright and sunny here. DS2 has Maths A Level this afternoon. 4 more exams to go and then he's finished. Whoohoo. Spoke to DSis last night to pontificate about Sunday - neither of us received a text or phone call from DMum yesterday which we were both miffed about! It's the small things....
Managed to get 4 wash loads dried on the whirly yesterday. There is very little ironing from it thank goodness, so that can wait. I'm having coffee with a friend after work as she has some divorce paperwork for me to witness.
Dinner tonight is SW chicken tikka masala. I have a Morries delivery coming this afternoon with some of the ingredients so fingers-crossed they aren't substituted!!
Enjoy your meet up TA
Hope the prospective buyer for mum's house works out Nels

Morning everyone
Forecast to be mild but cloudy today - thankfully the wind has dropped.
I need to go down to put the new battery in dads laptop before work - I need to go down a little earlier today as we're short-staffed this week.
I've given the bathrooms a quick clean so the towels and some light bits are busy washing...I should get them outside before I go out.
I need to have a look in the cupboard as I have a Tesco delivery coming on Thursday - I put things on then take them off if I don't actually need them... the prices of everything seem to be going up so much.
Nelki - sounds hopeful for your mums house - fingers crossed x
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Hello all, the sun didn't make an appearance till after 3pm yesterday and I think it will be the same today. We managed to cut the back lawn yesterday which took us most of the day as it was 10 mins mowing then 30 mins rest. It won't take a medal in the Chelsea flower show either but it's done. I found several ants nests had moved in so they've been evicted too.
This morning I'm aching in my upper arms and shoulders so not much work will be done today, but I'll give the kitchen a wipe down plus the cooker top and empty the dw. I was going to go to town to spend my birthday money today but I couldn't face it so we may go on Thurs instead, I don't have any idea what I want anyway. I shall put a gammon joint in the slow cooker ready for tea and we'll have cheesy mash with it and maybe a slice of pineapple too.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing.
Take care and hugs to all. Healing vibes to the poorly ones.
nan xx

Morning all. Dry but cloudy here today and it's feeling mild although last night seemed to get a bit chilly late on. It was a clear sky though and we could easily see the Strawberry Moon that's supposed to be at its best tonight. I had to get up at about 3.30 this morning for a comfort break and the blackbirds were out in force treating us to a dawn chorus. Very tuneful and luckily I got back to sleep easily.
Today's highlight will be the grocery delivery later this afternoon and the advance email tells me everything is in stock. As last time, it's mainly store cupboard and fresh stuff that I'll be glad to see as we are completely out of potatoes and very low on milk. I bought a 1 pint carton of milk on Friday to put us on but sadly it was off, even though it was in date. At one time I probably wouldn't have complained but nowadays it's a different kettle of fish with the way prices are. The SM was very good, no arguments, everything done online, and they've reimbursed me with some loyalty points (twice what the milk cost) - good quick service and I'm a happy bunny.
Yesterday's washing mostly dried outside and I finished it off overnight on the airer. All folded and put away. No ironing either!I've swept and mopped the kitchen floor and have wiped out the fridge ready for the delivery. Once I've finished on here I'll make some pastry and use it for a couple of fruit pies, one for now and one for the freezer, and no doubt there'll be pastry trimmings for jam or curd tarts. We had a lamb joint at the weekend - a rare treat - and we'll have some tonight for tea with chips and pickles. I'll slice and freeze the rest and I'm hoping I can squeeze a few end bits out of it too to make a couple of small pasties.
Keep your tootsies out of the way of that pressure washer, camelot!
Happy new shed, ruby.
Enjoy coffee morning, TA. Your friend seems to be doing well, long may it continue.
Fingers crossed for a successful house viewing, Nels.
Right, the kitchen is calling so I'll wish everyone a peaceful and stress-free day. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7
