Is there a cooling off period with energy providers if you grab a new fix with present provider today now ?
Price of fix going up daily by all accounts. Can only find cooling off of 14 days for new customers so far.

    14 days is the norm.

However if you are with EON Next then they will sometimes defer the fixed tariff up to one month. Only by telephone so you get the defer period plus 14 days.

Check the T&C of your provider.

There are the Ofgem rules that allow you a 14 days cooling off, but they cater more for a change of supplier, moving you back to the old supplier if you cancel within the 14 days.

EDF also gives you a 14 days cancellation period, and I think most suppliers will do, but don't assume check the T&C.

Good advice @pochase .  Bit late for me. I searched and searched to find out last night to no avail then clicked the sign up button. EDF 2 year. About 10p kw gas and 34p electricity. Content with that today.
Maybe the T&C came up and gave cooling off details or not but was just keen to take offer and go to bed. Maybe anyone else could say if they have cooling off period.

Anyway in EDF chat out of interest i asked tonight about cooling off in this fix for already a customer situation. They checked my account
    They said
"sure within 14 days of cool off period if you want can cancel it."
then when i said again about it to be sure
"no no everyone is eligible for the cool off period so you also can avail it."

I mentioned EDF as having it as part of the T&C because I am with EDF and checked.

A cancellation form should also show in your account activity tab, at least it did for me when I fixed in February.

Thats cool. In chat they said my account will take maybe 24 hrs or 48hrs to update so i couldnt see full details and its stuck on old tariff etc. I dont think i'd change as im content for the two years with it.
But if i do get the 14 days thats good. Main man Martin will update no dought on radio 5 tomorrow lunchtime show. lol
