Can anyone tell me if a letting agent who has every bit of paperwork you could possibly give them then ask for bank statements even though you have passed all the referencing and landlord checks ?

I don't see a problem, give them the bank statements.0

Have you paid a holding deposit? If yes, and you have 'passed all the referencing and landlord checks' then the tenancy should be granted. But it sounds like you have not yet 'passed all the referencing and landlord checks' as the LL's agent is still checking.......

I thought you would have handed copies of at least the last three months worth (possibly six months) of bank statements, at the initial “yes please, I’ll take it” stage.
Bank statements are often used as proof of address, with passport/drivers license being photographic proof of person.I’m not sure whether or not it’s legally going to stop you getting a flat, and it can seem intrusive when solicitors/estate agents etc ask you for this information, but if it’s the last thing to getting your new front door key ….0 -

* Bank statements are a fairly common 'bit of paperwork' to establish proof of address and affordability, so if you've given them everything, then you've already sent that
* If the LL checks include checking bank statements, and you've passed those checks, then must have already sent them.
You could just refer them to the email when you already sent them, or re-send since its no difference to you.
Of course if you HAVEN'T send the bank statements, then you haven't sent them a chunk of the paperwork and haven't passed all the checks, so your statement is wrong and will be sending them promptly.0
